路透河内12月5日 - 中国在线零售商 Temu 和 Shein 表示,两家公司已暂停在越南的业务,因这两家公司正努力向越南当局注册其电子商务服务。
越南政府对中国在线平台Temu大幅折扣的影响表示担忧,贸易部表示也担心可能出现假货销售。
上个月,越南要求 Shein 和 Temu 在 11 月底之前向政府注册,否则将面临互联网域名的封锁以及其应用程序的停止使用。
中国电子商务巨头PDD Holdings (PDD.Q)旗下的Temu于10月开始面向越南开放其平台,快时尚零售商Shein则已在越南销售至少两年。
越南贸易部表示,已下令Temu 在错过商业登记截止日期后将暂停在该国的业务。
越南贸易部在一份声明中表示:Temu 的运营将暂时停止,直至完成注册程序。
该平台已提交在越南开展电子商务服务活动的申请,正接受有关部门的审核。
越南贸易部没有透露审核持续多长时间,也未透露Temu在解除暂停之前必须采取哪些步骤。
周四开始,从越南访问 Temu 的网站时,越南语选项缺失。
Temu 在回复路透社的电子邮件置评请求时表示,已提交注册所需的所有文件,但没有给出恢复运营的时间表。
目前尚不清楚当局是否也停止了Shein的业务,但其越南网站已经无法访问,该公司表示正在与越南贸易部合作注册服务。
Shein 在一份电子邮件声明中表示:Shein 致力于遵守经营所在地国家的法律和法规,虽然其越南网站暂时无法使用,但越南的客户仍然可以在其国际平台上购物。

Temu, Shein suspend Vietnam operations amid crackdown on e-commerce platforms
Hanoi, Dec 5 (Reuters) -Chinese online retailersTemu and Shein have suspended their operations inVietnam as the companies work to register their e-commerce services with the Southeast Asian nation'sauthorities, the two companies said on Thursday.
The Vietnamese government and domesticbusinesses have voiced concern about the impact ofdeep discounting by Chinese online platforms, withthe trade ministry saying it was also worried aboutpotential sale of counterfeits.
Last month, Vietnam told Shein and Temu to registerwith the government by the end of November or facethe blocking of internet domains and a halt in use oftheir apps.
Temu, owned by Chinese e-commerce giant PDDHoldings (PDD.Q) , started allowing shoppers fromVietnam in October, while fast fashion retailer Sheinhas been selling into Vietnam for at least two years.Vietnam's trade ministry said on Thursday it hadordered Temu to suspend operations in the countryafter it missed the business registration deadline.
"Temu operations will be temporarily suspended untilit completes the registration procedure," the ministrysaid in a statement.
"The platform has submitted an application for e-commerce service activities in Vietnam which is underauthorities' review."
The ministry did not say how long the suspensionwould last,nor what steps Temu must take before it islifted.
On Thursday,Vietnamese-language options weremissing from Temu's website when accessed fromVietnam."Temu is working with the Vietnam E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency and theMinistry of Industry and Trade to register its provisionofe-commerce services in Vietnam,"" the companysaid in a notice on the website.
In response to a Reuters' email request for commentTemu said it had submitted all documents requiredfor the registration, but gave no timeframe forresuming operations.
It is not clear if the authorities also halted Shein'soperations, but its Vietnamese website wasunavailable, with the company saying it was workingwith the trade ministry to register services.
"Shein is committed to complying with the laws andregulations of the countries we operate in," Shein saidin an emailed statement, adding that while itsVietnamese website was temporarily unavailable,customers in Vietnam could still shop at itsinternational platform.
